Premier Martial Arts & Krav Maga Training Centers Instructs Free Kid Safe? Program as a Free Community Event; As Seen on 7News

Boulder, CO (PRWEB) May 11, 2006

As Seen on Denver's Channel 7-News, Premier Martial Arts and the Krav Maga Training Centers presents the nationally recognized Kid Safe Program as a free community event for Boulder County school age children from 4 to 12 years on Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 am.

This special event will be held at Premier Martial Arts location at 2750 Glenwood Drive in Boulder. Our expert instructors will teach children how to protect themselves against abduction and exploitation. Our curriculum provides children with the skills they need to be assertive, smart, strong and most importantly, safe!

The FBI National Crime Information Center cites that 2,200 children on average are reported missing each day of the year. Yet the NCIC believes many children can be safely recovered if parents are able to provide police with a complete identification record.

In the Kid Safe program, we provide the tools you need to create a Kid-Safe Identification Record for your child. The Kid Safe personal identification kit contains a physical description log including personal information, fingerprints, DNA kit, reusable emergency medical release card and emergency contact information.

Kid-Safe is an event where parents, students, friends, and family members are encouraged to participate.

Shannon Lukeman states, ?The tools we will provide in this seminar can potentially save lives and we feel it is our duty to share this information with our children. As leaders within the community, we can make a difference.?

KID SAFE is a part of Premier Martial Arts? community outreach program and the seminar is open to everyone.

To register for the program and to reserve your space, please call Premier Martial Arts in Boulder 303-449-2010 or online at http://www.coloradokravmaga.com

Learn KRAV MAGA (The Official Hand-to-Hand Combat Skill of the Israel Defense Forces) from the Experts - Security Solutions International SSI

Miami, FL (PRWEB) December 19, 2008

SSI now offers men and women the chance to learn the brutally effective Israeli martial art, KRAV MAGA (contact combat) in Israel with touring and training combined. Participants will visit Tel Aviv, Haifa, and the Old City of Jerusalem as well as see the Dead Sea and Massada during the 8-day program.

Despite the fact that SSI has trained the more than 700 government agencies in homeland security, this program is open to the public and may be attended by anyone with high motivation to learn self-defense. There is no need for previous experience in any other martial art.

Krav Maga has been widely popularized in recent years but the real masters are, of course, in Israel where Krav is taught to all men and women in the Israel Defense Forces. The system uses mental preparation and the natural movements of the body to create one of the most devastating methods for self-defense. Designed for both men and women, Krav is very effective for women. Indeed, Krav teaches the ability to deal with threatening situations: attack from behind; multiple attackers; knife and gun attacks so that men and women train and fight together.

SSI has trained more than 300 professional homeland security professionals in Israel. The very same trainers in KRAV MAGA will undertake training everyone from a complete novice to a KRAV MAGA trainer. SSI's experience means that participants will have an armed, personal protection specialist on every excursion and will get the best hospitality Israel has to offer, as well as the best KRAV MAGA training. The cost of the program includes absolutely everything from Newark to Israel and back. The group will depart on June 12th and return on June 22nd, 2009.

Sign up now, participation is strictly limited. For further information please contact: Henry Morgenstern at 786-573-3999.

Are You a Potential Victim of Lawfare?

SSI's non-profit organization, "Protecting the Homeland", is our newest initiative in championing democratic processes. In the dynamic arena for counteracting Islamic extremism masked under the exploitation of civil liberties, many have fallen victim to Lawfare--the formula is predictable. So-called anti-terrorist organizations, aligned with Islamic extremism, blatantly abuse the laws, freedoms and loopholes of the most liberal nation on earth to help finance and direct the world's most violent international terrorism cells.

The "Protecting the Homeland" organization charter embodies two main objectives: ceaseless dedication in counter-acting Islamic radicals who repeatedly attempt to threaten our constitutional freedoms, and channeling funds to educate US First Responders through sponsorship of training programs in the USA and Israel.

Krav Maga New York Launches km X, a Self Defense, Fitness and Life Skills Program for Children Ages 5 to 10

Somers, NY (PRWEB) May 20, 2009

Krav Maga New York, announces that it has introduced km - X; a martial arts based, self defense and character development program for children ages 5 to 10. The classes are taught by certified instructors with experience teaching martial arts to children and whose primary goal is to foster a safe, fun and positive environment.

km X is modeled after the world-renowned Israeli system of self-defense known as Krav Maga and offers a well-rounded alternative to traditional after-school programming. Classes combine fitness, martial arts self defense training and character development.

"In addition to Krav Maga fitness and defense training," says Davide Gristina, Chief Instructor at KMNY, "this specialized program for children teaches life skills through the study and discussion of 'key words' that describe universal emotions, behaviors, perceptions, and attitudes encountered in every day life experiences. We use stories and role playing at the end of each class to teach the importance of key word concepts and demonstrate how they can be incorporated into a child's daily routine."

Children who remain with and actively participate in the program experience an increased level of fitness, coordination, confidence, courage, modesty, and leadership. To further promote a sense of achievement and pride through hard work, respect and commitment, children enrolled in the program are awarded stripes and belts of different colors as they progress through the curriculum.

Classes are held at Somers Sports & Fitness, 245 Route 100, Somers, NY 10589 and are offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings at 5 pm. There is also a class offered on Saturdays at 11 am. There is no limit imposed on the number of classes or days of the week a child may attend.

Krav Maga New York Launches Martial Arts Based Self Defense Programs In Somers

Somers, NY (PRWEB) May 20, 2009

Krav Maga New York, located at 245 Route 100, Somers, NY 10589, announces that it has introduced the Israeli Fitness, Fighting, and Self Defense system known worldwide as Krav Maga.

Unlike Mixed Martial Arts, Boxing, Wrestling, BJJ, or other forms of rule-based competition, Krav Maga is designed for real world violent situations where rules simply do not apply. One of the most devastating methods for self-defense, it teaches practitioners how best to neutralize attacks and escape unharmed. Krav Maga is characterized by practical, consistent self defense techniques against realistic attacks. Because responses taught follow simple instinctive body mechanics, Krav Maga is easily learned, easily retained, and can be replicated under stress.

Krav Maga is a favorite among many Law Enforcement, Military, Defensive Tactics and Anti Terrorist Training Units. Agencies having trained in Krav Maga are include Illinois State Police, Denver PD, US Department of Justice, and LA County Sheriff.

Krav Maga's total body fitness has also attracted countless Hollywood stars including Jennifer Lopez, Kristanna Loken, Brendan Fraser and Jennifer Garner.

Although Krav Maga is a belted system, the promulgation and distribution of belts is not the goal. Krav Maga is about street survival, the real thing, and for many students and Instructors, very personal.

Classes for levels beginner through Black Belt are given weeknights and weekends at Somers Sports & Fitness, 245 Rote 100, Somers, NY 10589.

Krav Maga New York participants are taught to manage situations where losing would be potentially fatal. Attack and defense maneuvers aim to neutralize the threat and facilitate rapid and safe escape. Students learn combatives such as punches, kicks, knees, elbows, head butts and how to defend against common punches, kicks, chokes, grabs, and bear hugs, as well as weapons such as guns, knives, and sticks. Just as important, the instructors at Krav Maga New York teach students to function during the stress and shock of a sudden, violent encounter where there might be multiple attackers.

"We help our practitioners manage threat," said Davide Gristina, Chief Instructor at KMNY. "In fact, we help our participants manage a multitude of threats. It's simulation training, and rather simple, at least conceptually. We provide a threat stimulus, and participants get a first hand experience in perceiving it, understanding it, and responding to it. This process builds confidence and increases response time. More importantly though, the process relieves anxiety and calms the soul. Our practitioners walk away feeling safer knowing that they are no longer denying the possibility of a violent encounter, but rather are doing something to manage it and to answer the nagging, daunting question inside each one of us; what would I do if...?"

Krav Maga New York is a Licensee of Krav Maga Worldwide.

Krav Maga New York Teaches Defensive Tactics To Law Enforcement at LE Tactical Expo & Conference

Somers, NY (PRWEB) June 10, 2009

In April, Krav Maga New York kicked off back-to-back seminars at NYTOA's 2009 annual Expo & Conference held in Turning Stone Resort and Casino. The participating Law Enforcement officers were introduced to the Israeli Fighting and Self Defense system known as Krav Maga. Certified Force Training Instructors taught seminars featuring Edge Weapon Defenses on day one, followed by Weapon Retention on day 2.

Krav Maga was originally created for the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). It emerged in an environment where extreme violence was common. Over time, this system has been repeatedly tested and improved under real-life conditions. No defensive tactics system is more street and battle-tested than Krav Maga.

The Krav Maga system has received international recognition as a highly practical defensive tactics system well suited for law enforcement. Based on instinctive movements, the simple, effective, and aggressive techniques require minimal training time and yield maximum retention, even under stress. The training is designed to improve the officers' emotional and physical response to danger. The system deals with scenarios where operators face life-threatening situations while unarmed or in situations where higher force options can't be accessed. From this perspective, the operator must respond with fast, aggressive, defensive techniques and combative strikes until help is acquired. These methods also develop the ability to recognize danger at the earliest stages, react without hesitation, and escalate plus de-escalate with the appropriate level of force.

NYTOA seminar participants had this to say:

"Excellent class. It certainly gets officers from departments that don't keep up on street survival skills a great working knowledge on how to keep the mindset." I have never been to another seminar like this." -- Mark F., Rotterdam PD

"This was the most realistic hand to hand combat course I've taken. The instructors were both knowledgeable and helpful. This class should be taught to every law enforcement officer" -- Joseph W., NYPD / ESU (retired)

"This was by far the best self defense / offense seminar that I have attended. The class was presented safely but with a high enough intensity that learning didn't stop." -- Don T., Town of Malius PD????

"As Instructors you guys were very thorough, to the point, and personable." -- Sam D., Broom County Sheriff

Krav Maga New York is located on Route 100 in Somers, NY, where it currently offers group classes that are open to both civilians and law enforcement personnel. Krav Maga New York is actively looking for a dedicated Law Enforcement Training facility that will serve Duchess / Orange Counties and expects to launch that program later this year.????

Krav Maga New York Poised To Establish Itself As A Leader In Krav Maga Based Hand-to-Hand Defensive Tactics Training

Westchester County, NY (PRWEB) October 28, 2011

After being catapulted to the forefront of Law Enforcement Tactical Training over a year ago by facilitating specialty training for one of NY State?s elite special ops teams, Westchester & Orange County based Krav Maga New York vanished from the spotlight, or so it seemed. But, as KMNY?s Lead Force Training Instructor Ed Raso explains, ?There are many people out there who claim to have trained Law Enforcement. When you dig a little deeper though, you find that they?ve trained individuals who just happen to be in Law Enforcement. On occasion, you may find someone who trained an agency once. That ?once? speaks for itself. Since its inception our Force Training Team has repeatedly and consistently trained Law Enforcement, both individuals and agencies, and our list of references continues to grow. Our commitment to this process is evident by our Instructors? dedication to their own continuing training at the highest levels of Krav Maga. KMNY currently has 6 certified Force Training Instructors, and we will have 9 by the end of 2011. We are not ?once? guys?.????

About Krav Maga San Francisco

Established in 1999, Krav Maga San Francisco originally held classes in a small 750-square-foot facility in the Marina District of San Francisco. In 2003, KMSF relocated to a 6,000-square-foot training facility at its present location on Bush Street. With continued success, KMSF took over the lower level on Bush street in 2008 and nearly doubled the size of its three training rooms, as well as adding a weight room and a CrossFit room.

Today, Krav Maga San Francisco is the preferred training center for over 600 members and holds nearly 70 classes per week, including TRX training, and self-defense and fitness classes, in a two-story, 12,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art training facility.

Westchester County, NY and Orange County, NY Law Enforcement Officers are Krav Maga Certified

Somers, NY (PRWEB) December 29, 2011

Westchester County and Orange County based Krav Maga New York hosted a law enforcement only ?Train the Trainer? certification course earlier this month. Officers who participated in this 40 hour long certification learned Krav Maga based techniques including side arm and long gun retention and defenses against attacks that transition to the ground. Shortly after course completion, Detective Marc M., a Police Academy Instructor, SWAT team member and course participant, stated, ?Though intense and highly stressful, the course was personally gratifying and overall, a great success. Those who participated worked hard and represented their departments extremely well? and on our last day when high ranking Police officials showed up to evaluate our training, the room came alive. Everyone was giving it their all. Man, that was an amazing feeling.? Mr. M. goes on, ? I?m convinced that change is eminent statewide and that at some point in the very near future, PD?s all around us will begin to place a higher value on repetitive in-service training like this.?

Krav Maga has developed into one of the most sought after defensive tactics systems for American law enforcement (and civilian) applications. Originally created during the formation of the Israeli state, it emerged in an environment where extreme violence was common. Over time, the system has been repeatedly tested and improved upon based on real-life conditions. From the streets of Tel Aviv to the streets of Los Angeles and New York, no defensive tactics system in the world is as battle tested as Krav Maga.

Ruben C., a course participant now certified to teach Krav Maga, had this to say, ?In my 22 years as a law enforcement officer, this was the best training I?ve gone through. I want to thank Krav Maga New York for bringing Krav Maga to our law enforcement community. What you guys have given us will save our lives, and that is truly a great gift?

Krav Maga training is designed to improve an officers' emotional and physical response to danger. These instinctive, simple, effective, and aggressive defensive techniques build on one another, require minimal training time and yield maximum retention, even under stress. The system deals with scenarios where operators face life threatening situations while unarmed or face situations where higher force options can't be accessed. From these positions of disadvantage, operators must respond quickly and decisively until the threat is under control. Krav Maga training methods not only develop officer?s ?command presence? in what is considered by participants a comparatively short period of training, but allow officers to recognize danger at the earliest stages, react without hesitation, and deploy, escalate and de-escalate levels of force appropriately.

When asked about the need for Krav Maga training specific to law enforcement, Davide Gristina, Krav Maga New York?s Chief Instructor, Owner and License holder replied, ?Today?s breed of law enforcement is more motivated than ever. Given little or no defensive training once on the job, professionals like these will seek training on their own. This is both a widespread, admirable phenomenon as well as a risk. It result is a whole lot of officers training in a whole lot of defensive stuff, none of it department approved, and some of it, perhaps more than we?d like, outright dangerous for the officer. Things could be done better. If departments were to organize, codify and deploy standard hand to hand defensive tactics systems, officer confidence would increase resulting in a better skilled, more assertive, safer officer and that officer would be backed by a better trained, less liable department that in turn would be faced with fewer use of force complaints - because excessive force complaints are largely associated to an initial questionable command presence and an initial lack of sufficient force. So, by implementing law enforcement specific hand to hand defensive training, everybody wins?.

The second week of basic Jiu-Jitsu training teaches ?The Basic Kimura with Street Applications as Offense and Defense.? The Kimura, a common hold in mixed martial arts, applies a large amount of pressure on an opponent?s shoulder, but if done properly, is easy and safe to learn.
