Krav Maga San Francisco Self-Defense Center Offers 10-Week Jiu-Jitsu Course with Lana Stefanac

Krav Maga San Francisco self-defense center is offering a 10-week, beginner seminar on Jiu-Jitsu training from the world?s best, Lana Stefanac. The seminar begins on Jan. 21 and costs $ 249 for non-members and is free to all members.


The first week of training is ?The Basic Arm and Cloth Chokes with Street Applications,? which includes defenses to head attacks. Trainees must bring an old, thin jacket.


The second week of basic Jiu-Jitsu training teaches ?The Basic Kimura with Street Applications as Offense and Defense.? The Kimura, a common hold in mixed martial arts, applies a large amount of pressure on an opponent?s shoulder, but if done properly, is easy and safe to learn.


The third week features the ?Start of Ground Applications with Takedowns as Related to Street Applications.? The fourth week of training is about ?Ground Attacks; Triangle, Kimura and Armbar.?


Other weeks include ?Ground Sweeps for Attack and Defense,? two review weeks, ground control and attack (offensive) and basics of defense from the ground (defensive), ?Leg Attacks from Ground to Disable Attacker,? and a final test and certificate administration.


As can be observed from the topics of the seminar, Jiu-Jitsu is primarily a ground-fighting art, a grappling style of martial arts that specializes in ground techniques to overcome the size and strength of opponents.????
