We Are Family Foundation Gala Celebrates 10 Years of Making a Global Impact

New York City, NY (PRWEB) October 11, 2011

Ten years after he re-recorded his hit song ?We Are Family? in the wake of the September 11th tragedy, Nile Rodgers will receive the 2011 Humanitarian Award from the organization he created with his song.

The We Are Family Foundation (WAFF) will hold its 10 Year Celebration Gala on October 24th at Manhattan Center?s Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City with longtime host Rosie Perez. This year is especially poignant since it marks the ten-year anniversary of 9/11. In the days following the tragedy, Nile brought together over 200 musicians and personalities to re-record his classic 70?s dance track ?We Are Family.? The message was clear: We stand together as one family united in the quest for peace.

From this display of hope and brotherhood, the We Are Family Foundation was born. This not-for-profit organization dedicates itself to the vision of a global family by creating and supporting programs that inspire and educate the next generation about respect, understanding and cultural diversity ? while striving to solve some of our biggest global problems at the same time.

A fantastic program is planned for the evening. In addition to the award ceremony, there will be dinner and non-stop music celebrating Rodgers? legendary four-decade career. There will also be a live auction to help raise additional funds. All proceeds from the Gala will support WAFF?s mission and programs including Three Dot Dash?WAFF?s signature program to support and mentor global teen leaders who are actively working on programs that address basic human needs and promoting a more peaceful society.

Tickets to the Gala can be purchased by contacting Devin Cox at 212.397.4333, extension 304. Arrivals begin at 6:30PM on October 24th and the ceremony will directly follow at 7:45PM. Manhattan Center?s Hammerstein Ballroom is located at 311 West 34th Street in New York City.

TC Global, Inc. (Tully's) Announces Second Quarter Fiscal 2012 Financial Results

Seattle, Wash. (PRWEB) November 18, 2011

TC Global, Inc., dba Tully?s Coffee (Tully?s), a leading specialty coffee retailer, today announced its financial results for the 13- and 26-week periods ending October 2, 2011 (?Second Quarter Fiscal 2012? and ?Six Months Fiscal 2012,? respectively).

Continuing to be driven by same-store-sales increases and aggressive cost saving initiatives, Tully?s made substantial operating improvements over the prior year comparable periods during Second Quarter Fiscal 2012. For the fourth sequential quarter, Tully?s has reported a positive cash contribution from operating activities. For the Second Quarter Fiscal 2012, this positive cash contribution from operating activities was $ 49,000, and on a year-to-date basis, a total positive cash contribution from operating activities of $ 238,000. The Company has also reduced its net loss by $ 1.4 million, or 53%, to $ 748,000 in Second Quarter Fiscal 2012, compared to a net loss of nearly $ 1.6 million in the 13-week period ending September 26, 2010 (?Second Quarter Fiscal 2011?). On a year-to-date basis, the Company has reduced its net loss by $ 2.2 million, or 68%, to just over $ 1.0 million.

?Our focus continues on sales growth, expense management and operational effectiveness. Our same store sales are solid at a 5.3% increase over the same period of the prior year,? stated Scott Pearson, President and CEO of TC Global, Inc. ?We have also made some strategic real estate decisions that will have a positive impact on our results longer term.?

Tully?s finished Second Quarter Fiscal 2012 with an increase in comparable store sales of $ 433,000, or 5.3%, offset by a decrease in sales due to store closures and less retail sales to franchisees due to its outsourced warehouse and distribution arrangement, netting to an overall increase in net sales of $ 284,000 over the prior year quarterly period. This was achieved by strengthened retail operations, successful promotions, new product launches and enhanced staff training. The Company continues to evaluate its real estate portfolio and assess the need for change in light of its drive toward individually profitable retail operations.

The Company reports a slight increase in its cost of goods sold and related occupancy costs of $ 19,000, or 0.4%, to $ 4.4 million for the Second Quarter of Fiscal 2012, which constitutes a rate of 46.8% of against net sales, compared to 48% in the prior year quarterly period. This increase represents a general rise in the price of coffee beans, dairy, and other commodities that go into the products offered for sale.

?We continue to remain committed to the execution of our revenue and profitability goals that we set forth at the beginning of this fiscal year. We are very proud of the fact that we have been able to achieve significant improvements in our quarterly and year-to-date key operating metrics,? comments Pearson.

On September 27, 2011, the Company convened its annual meeting of shareholders. Due to a lack of quorum, the Company adjourned the meeting to November 15, 2011 in order to provide additional time for management to solicit proxies from the Company?s shareholders. On November 15, the meeting was reconvened but again adjourned, due to a lack of quorum, to 8:00 a.m. PST on December 15, 2011, at the Company?s corporate headquarters located at 3100 Airport Way South, Seattle, WA. No business update or presentation will be offered at this meeting, which will be reconvened only to confirm the election of the Company?s board of directors.

Additional information about Second Quarter Fiscal 2012 results is contained in TC Global, Inc.?s Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q that was filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on November 16, 2011.

Nancy Noel Artwork Has Global Reach as Groundbreaking of Her African School is Sponsored in Part by Russian Academician

Zionsville, IN (PRWEB) July 27, 2011

During a recent visit to The Sanctuary in Zionsville, Indiana, Russian dignitary Ilya Uriloy was so moved by Nancy Noel?s artwork that he gave $ 30,000 to the N. A. Noel Preschool in Mbita on Rusinga Island, Kenya. The school is one of Nancy?s many humanitarian ventures.

In The Sanctuary, home to Nancy?s exclusive collection, her art is displayed in a unique and historic renovated 1890?s church in the quaint town of Zionsville, just outside Indianapolis, Indiana. During Ilya?s visit he had an experience similar to that of many other visitors to The Sanctuary. He was touched by the emotion of her art, the serene energy of the renovated church and the stories behind much of the art. Through this visit he learned of the N. A. Noel Preschool on Rusinga Island, Kenya.

On one of Nancy?s many visits to Africa, she stumbled upon 60 children inside a hut. Making a promise to them, Nancy has kept her word for more than a decade to help these children with her financial support. Her promise to care for these children has never wavered, and with her interest and financial support, the school has expanded to nearly 240 children. Many of the children at the school have been orphaned by the AIDS pandemic that plagues Africa; some of the children have AIDS themselves. Nancy worked with the school to implement a feeding program, a health program that provides weekly visits by a medical doctor, as well as school supplies and academic support. Recently the ONE NET-ONE LIFE Program of Oakland City University at the Indiana Women?s Prison program, made and donated, 264 lifesaving mosquito bed-nets for Nancy's preschool. With volunteers involved with the IU Kenya Partnership program, the mosquito bed-nets were transported to the school in Africa.

Breaking ground on a new building will allow for the increase of new students, which has been a long time goal for the school and for Nancy. Ilya made it possible with his generous $ 30,000.00 donation. Mr. Uriloy, also a philanthropist, extended an invitation for Nancy to visit Moscow and St. Petersburg to plan how to introduce Nancy?s art and books to his home country. Nancy just returned from this exciting trip inspired and ready to begin other new projects to benefit children in that part of the world as well.

?When I saw the children of Africa, their faces, their enthusiasm for life, even though they were living in horrible conditions, I saw a side of them that still clung to hope. I have tried to provide that hope to them over the years. Now with the building of a new school, we will be able to continue to care for them for many years to come,? said Nancy Noel. The staff at the school said if it were not for Nancy Noel, there would be no school.

Ilya Uriloy saw the same passion and emotion in Nancy?s hopes for her school that she has put into her art. He is now part of an international movement to continue her efforts to bring hope to the children of Rusinga Island. The N. A. Noel Preschool?s Advisory Board is made up of dignitaries from across the country and around the globe.

N. A. Noel Preschool Board Members include: Dr. Dmitry Arbuck, MD Psychiatrist working in Indiana, California and Russia; Dr. Ursula Jacob, MD Renowned cancer research authority from Germany; Jane Seymour, Actress, Author, Artist from California; James Keach, Actor, Producer, Director from California;

Mickey Maurer, Chairman of the Board for Indianapolis Business Journal and National Bank of Indianapolis, Indiana; Leslie Athol, Life Coach from South Africa; Mark Roesler, CEO and Chairman CMG Worldwide from California.

Nancy Noel is a world celebrated artist and is well known for her ability to capture something almost spiritual on the canvas. Nancy?s work includes a unique versatility with a wide variety of subjects including Amish, angels, animals, an in depth artist collection, and of course her African series. Nancy has published eight books featuring her art along with stories that comfort the soul.

In 2005 Nancy purchased and renovated a church originally built in 1894 and re-opened her gallery here naming it The Sanctuary. It has become just that, A Sanctuary people visit and find comfort, wonder, and peace. The Sanctuary was voted a ?must see? destination of the Midwest. The space also features a restaurant and gallery shop. People often reserve the space for elegant events such as private dinners, weddings, and concerts.

?Every year, as the heart of Nancy?s spiritual and artistic life expands, so does the breadth and power of her art.? Said Alex Kosene. ?But the merger of this extraordinary historic building with many dramatic paintings may be her greatest work yet.?

As a 501c3 Charitable Organization through Women Like Us Foundation, Nancy continues to seek out ways to better the life of the children she happened upon long ago.

SSI Global Security Workshop Participants Visited Port of ASHDOD, Site of a Ruthless Terror Attack That Killed 10 and Injured 16

Miami, FL (PRWEB) November 10, 2010

While the world is focused on terror threats to aircraft after the bombs from Yemen, proactive members of law enforcement visited the Port of Ashdod on SSI?s 16th mission to Israel to study the way Israel has learned to deal with threats to everything from Aviation to School Security. ?Although everything here is not a cut and paste to the USA, we have seen almost 400 members of the US Homeland Security community learn enough here to make substantial changes to make the USA safer," said Henry Morgenstern, The President of SSI and creator of the program. ?With threats to the USA being so high, more and more are coming to Israel to find out how security could be strengthened in the USA.?

The unpatrolled access that SSI enjoys through wide-ranging connections with Israelis at every level in Homeland Security (Henry Morgenstern?s Book, Suicide Terror: Understanding and confronting the threat was recommend by the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu http://www.suicideterror.com ) means that SSI is the only company that has sent missions to Israel this year.

The group, which represents cities that range from Ft. Lauderdale to Columbus and Tahoe and much in between, will spend about 60 intense hours learning everything from security for rail stations to Krav Maga, the Israeli art of self defense. Visiting the Israeli government buildings or getting a lecture from an expert from Ben Gurion Airport on aviation security, each participant takes home one of the most prestigious certificates available to Homeland Security professionals. The next trip is already getting sign-ups for the June 17 to June 25. Sign up now while there are still places.
